We want to make sure that everyone is able to get involved with the museum and make the most of what we have on offer. Our Learning and Participation Officer works with learners of all ages and organises activities and events such as talks, lectures, family activity days and other informal learning.
We also work in partnership with other organisations and community groups to carry out projects and research with the museum’s collections.
If you would like to learn more about forthcoming events and activities at the museum then please go to our What's On page.
If you have any ideas or requests then please contact Clare, Learning and Participation Officer at clare.bromley@westberks.gov.uk or 01635 519562.
There is plenty for the families to do on a museum visit. You can explore the museum and have a go at the gallery activities, such as simple crafts, colouring in, dressing up in historical and themed costumes, object handling, brass rubbing and puzzles – these can be found at our activity stations scattered throughout the museum.
During school holidays we have a programme of drop-in make and take craft activities – a great opportunity for families to learn a new craft and have fun together.
There is also a selection of free activity trails available for different ages and abilities.
We also have regular family fun days on a variety of themes as well as monthly (in term time) sessions for under 5s called “Blaze’s Buddies”.
