1n 1905, Shaw House was purchased by the Honorable Mrs. Farquhar, the youngest daughter of Thomas, 1st Lord Deramore. Mrs. Farquhar was a wealthy widow with a taste for the finest things that Edwardian life could offer. During her ownership, the house was furnished with expensive antiques and the gardens were adorned with beautiful rose beds.
Afternoon tea takes place in the Chandos Dining Room which was originally used as the parlour where tea was traditionally served.

Afternoon tea includes a selection of Fair Trade tea, finger sandwiches with fillings of smoked salmon, grated cheese, Wiltshire gammon, egg mayonnaise and cress, a scone with clotted cream and locally produced jam and a generous slice of homemade Victoria sponge and fruit cake from £14.95 per person. And for a special occasion, why not add a little sparkle to your afternoon with a glass of Prosecco.
