Tutor: Sue Hourigan, Berkshire Record Office
Berkshire Record Office holds the historic archives relating to Berkshire. The historic archives are looked after by Jane and Sue, who have collectively over 30 years of experience cleaning, packaging and repairing the documents. They teach collectors how to look after their own collections by identifying the risks to paper documents and carrying out basic life extending treatments. The techniques used to repair old documents and books can also be transferred into contemporary papermaking, picture mounting and bookbinding. The classes are designed for beginners. All materials and equipment will be supplied.
