Workshops: Painting Birds26 September 10:00
Using specimens from the museum collection we will work with watercolour, pencil, pen and wash. There will be individual help and group discussion around examples of work by painters of birds, looking particularly at interpretation of texture, light and shade in feathers and structure. In the afternoon, there will be the opportunity to choose to continue to work indoors with your chosen specimen or (weather permitting) sketch birds by the Kennet and Avon canal.
Materials you need to provide:
A3 or larger sketch pad, watercolours and paintbrushes no. 2 and no. 5, drawing pen and 2B pencil.
All abilities welcome. Please bring your own lunch, refreshments and snacks will be available to purchase from the café.
