In this workshop we will be making a simple garden cloche or plant climber for use in your garden. Along the way we will explore different weaving techniques that you can use to create decorative and useful objects for your garden, giving you an insight into working with this versatile materials.
Learn about the history of willow, and how complex objects can be made using natural materials and a minimum of basic tools.
All materials will be provided but please bring secateurs if you have them and remember that willow is a natural material and can be mucky – so wear old clothes!
Willow workshops provide you with the opportunity to learn through doing and to experience how to create beautiful and functional objects from simple materials. Along the way you’ll learn something about its social and cultural history, environmental impact and sustainability as well as helping keep the heritage of this wonderful craft alive!
The museum and café are open from 10am – 4pm.
