Special Exhibition: Boxford Masques

01 November 10:00

Runs until 24 April 2017. The Boxford Masques is a large scale community theatre performance held in the grounds of Welford Park, the next show will be in late July 2017. The Masques were originally staged before the First World War and were revived by the Watermill Theatre in 2000, with new scripts created by local author Geraldine MacCaughrean. Now an independent charity the Masques have become a regular and popular feature of West Berkshire summer life.

This special exhibition celebrates The Boxford Masque tradition, tracing the fascinating history of this renowned drama group which can trace its roots back over a 100 years.

Our second floor galleries host a series of special exhibitions, along with Gallery 5 which can be hired to display original artwork, sculpture and crafts.

Entry to West Berkshire Museum is free but donations are most welcomed.
Wednesday – Sunday 10am -4pm.
