Subterfuge, scandals, and seafaring shenanigans
Award winning early music ensemble Charivari Agréable return to Shaw House with their new programme of words and music to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the death of Sir Walter Raleigh with works from the Golden Age of England & Spain (incl. Byrd, Cabezon, Campion, Dowland, Farnaby & Ortiz), and featuring Elizabeth I’s iconic Tilbury speech as well as the sonnets of Shakespeare.
Isobel Collyer, Layil Barr and Kah-Ming Ng once more take us back to a time when Shaw House was a new and lively country mansion, and fill its Great Hall with the music, speeches and poetry of the period.
