Common Words: workshop and poetry reading

22 October 14:00

A FREE drop-in workshop and poetry reading at West Berkshire Museum.

Poet Steve Wallis will be reading from his Greenham Common collection, Common Words, and encouraging visitors to pen their own poem in response to the ‘Greenham – Tracks Across The Common’ exhibition.

The poems in Common Words reflect the natural and political histories of Greenham Common, all arranged according to the traditional magpie counting rhyme, from ‘One for sorrow’ to ‘Ten’s a bird you never should miss’.

This wonderful book, with beautifully crafted pieces, reveals a sensitivity to history, a keen sense of humour and a love of the natural world.  It is a delight” Penny Post
